.... Nora Soos' work is based upon motifs derived from a chaotic system of objects, consumer goods, pieces of clothing, shoes, etc. The prominent force of her creations are almost glitzy, un-subdued, a palate tuned to vivid colors which is applied on intensive, blotchy areas surrounded by an outline or an entangled contour sketches of vibrant, dizzying illusionary lines. The motifs exact pictorial summoning - the concrete objects tile like placement, or collage like layering serve as counterpoints in the compositions to the gestured brush strokes, dripping of pigment, abstract blotches, that are supposed to be the ever present spoiler of order, production of free - form created by intuition, an emotional outburst free of inhibition - appear on the canvas.
In the art work of Nora Soos the objects are full of life, the spaces are saturated with restlessness, radiate a tense atmosphere. Excitingly pulsating, overheated, burdened with overwork, overstepping the boundaries, absolutely owning the canvas surface with the flooding of motifs. Expressive spot variations and nervous line proliferations talk back to each other in the pictures. Shoes, gloves, coats are swirling and transpose into meaningful symbols, stories, or wrap into individualized destiny. Emphasizing that objects, things have taken the power over us.
